About
Off the Cork is run by a couple of friends who like to drink wine. We don’t consider ourselves “experts” in wine, nor are we “collectors.” The goal of this blog is mostly to provide a way for us to keep track of what wines we encounter. We used to e-mail each other the basic information about a new wine and gradually we started copying others on these e-mails. So, we thought we’d take this to the next logical level, which resulted in this blog. In addition to our pedestrian opinions about wines, we will also write articles about anything else that moves us like wine gadgetry or even stores and vineyards and possibly wine making.
Our opinion is most wine blogs and websites today are a bit stuffy and our hope is to be a good reference for folks who enjoy drinking wine, are just getting into wine, or have the same budgets we do for wine— a lot of the wine we drink are in the $10 -$20 range. Please feel free to reach out to us or comment on any of the articles we post. We love to hear about other peoples’ experiences with wine and we will be sharing some of those here as well as trying any suggestions that come our way.
Thanks for visiting, and enjoy a glass while you’re here.
